English: White-collared Blackbird Turdus albocinctus at Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh, India. Seen singly foraging at the floor by shifting vegetable matters with its bill at a Thaatch with scattered trees in morning around 6.15 a.m. The place was abuzz at that time with activities of Himalayan Woodpeckers, White-throated Nuthatches, Black & Yellow Grosbeaks, Oriental Turtle Doves, Spot-winged Tits, Hume's Warblers etc. This picture taken at Bhandak Thaatch ( around 9000 ft.) on 12/5/07 during Sar Pass Trek in Himachal. Two of them ( possibly male & female) also seen during the spordic rains in the afternoon on way to Bhandak Thaatch from Biskeri (11000 ft.) while making beautiful descending call of 'tew-i, tew-e, tew-o' from Pine tree top in a very big Thaatch, possibly as a part of hunting party of Long-tailed Minivets, Ultramarine Flycatchers, Hume's Warblers, Rufous-vented & Spot-winged Tits etc. as all of them almost came simultaneously from nowhere & the whole place suddenly appeared to be abuzz with lot of bird activities.
